Out of playoffs, Bucs now wait to see who will be back for 2024 season : Notes | Less than 24 hours after their loss in Detroit, players and coaches wondered who would be back. Plus, Dave Canales and Chase McLaughlin made strong first impressions. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles ineffective not calling a timeout and forcing the Lions to attempt what would have been a 47 or 48 yard field goal and the Bucs getting the football 🏈  back will go down in history as perhaps the worst call in NFL playoffs history. The Bucs basically conceded to the Lions. Bowles is just not the right guy for our team. We need to try to pursue Jim Harbaugh or Mike Vrabel and fire Todd Bowles.  Bowles is soft and predictable and not a winning head coach in crucial moments in close games. Bowles as a head coach is not going to win the Bucs Superbowl rings.

  The Detroit Lions ended the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Season defeating them 31-23 in Detroit, MI. Bucs QB Baker Mayfield threw for 3 touchdowns, one to running back Rachaad White, Cade Otton, and Mike Evans. Mayfield also had two interceptions, one a costly interception that ended their season in the Divisional Playoffs against the Lions.  I have to tip my hats off to the Lions making big plays both offensively and defensively. Their Cinderella story is the reason why I'm pulling for the Lions to go to the Superbowl and win a Championship 🏆 for the city 🏙️ of Detroit. Jared Goff deserve the win and I'm pulling for the Lions to beat the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium in San Francisco in the NFC Championship game.  Like I mentioned in blog posts before Bucs head coach Todd Bowles fate is in the hands of Owners the Glazers if they decide to fire Bowles or bring him back for one more season on a short term deal.   The 4th seeded Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8) routed the sputtering 5th seeded Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) 32-9 in Raymond James Stadium 🏟️ in Tampa, FL. Bucs QB Baker Mayfield threw for 3 touchdowns; one to David Moore, one to Trey Palmer, and one to Chris Godwin. This Bucs team along with head coach Todd Bowles have overcome a lot of adversity. The stumbling Eagles season was ended after losing in the 2022 Superbowl to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bucs leading 16-9 D forced Eagles QB Jalen Hurts into a safety after they sacked Hurts in the Eagles own end zone to go up 18-9. This game featuring some poor Eagles tackling and some drop passes thrown to Mike Evans and Cade Otton by Bucs QB Mayfield. The Eagles tried a brotherly love push on a 2-point conversion that would have cut the Bucs lead to 16-11 but it failed. The Bucs will be at the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the Divisional Playoffs.  

  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8) punched their ticket in the post season after a 9-0 win against a Division foe Carolina Panthers yesterday in Carolina. The Bucs will host a Wildcard against the stumbling Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) in Raymond James Stadium 🏟️ in Tampa, FL. The question ❓ is will the Bucs go deep in the playoffs or be one and done with Todd Bowles as their head coach. That will remain to be seen. The Glazers will determine Bowles future with the Bucs if the Bucs succeed or underachieve. The Bucs will have a chance to prove if they are contenders or pretenders when the playoffs begins. Can Todd Bowles finally prove the doubters wrong that he can win a Superbowl as head coach will also remain to be seen. So far as head coach he has not proven anything but one in done in the playoffs last year as first year head coach of the Bucs. Bowles is perhaps the only head coach in the playoffs job is in jeopardy if his team underachieves.

  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8) heading in to Week 18 currently have the 4th seed if the regular season ended today in the NFL and would host the 5th seeded Philadelphia Eagles (11-5). The Bucs control their own destiny. If the Bucs beat Carolina Panthers (2-14) on Sunday clinch the NFC South regardless if the New Orleans Saints (8-8) beat the Atlanta Falcons (7-9). The only other way the Bucs would make the playoffs if they were to lose to Carolina on Sunday if the Green Bay Packers (8-8) and Seattle Seahawks (8-8) lose their final game. The Bucs own the tiebreaker over the Packers when they beat them 34-20 in Lambeau Field and the Bucs have a better conference record than the Seahawks.

  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played lousy football 🏈 today. Bucs QB Baker Mayfield was intercepted 2 times. The New Orleans Saints handled the Bucs 23-13 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. As a Bucs fan we should have taken care of business and won against our division foe Saints. It's simple why the Bucs got handled the way that they did today. Derek Carr picked a part the Bucs D. The Saints played like they needed the win and won. The Bucs played like they didn't need to win and got humiliated. The Bucs can clinch the NFC South Division with a win at the Carolina Panthers next Sunday. The loss snaps the Bucs (8-8) 4-game win streak. The Bucs are tied with the Saints (8-8) for first place in the NFC South. The Bucs remain in first place in the division because they have a better conference record than the Saints.
