Baker Mayfield named 2023 Starting Quarterback in Regular Season
When I heard the news that QB Baker Mayfield first round draft pick of 2018 from the Cleveland Browns now successor to retired QB Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be the Bucs starter for the 2023 Regular Season, I really wasn't all that surprised. The NFC South could be there for the taking for the Bucs if Mayfield have a breakout passing season for the Bucs. Mayfield appears to be a guy who has a swagger about him. You know what, if that what motivates Mayfield to play hard, then by all means necessary Mayfield should do whatever it takes to motivate him to win. If Mayfield throws for 4 TD's and 4 INTs and the Tampa Buccaneers win 42-39, then that's okay. I'm not saying he should go out there and throw INTs like that every week but he should play hard every game to put the Bucs in position to win every week. Kyle Trask is the #2 QB ready to take over whenever Mayfield is struggling or if Mayfield is injured. This is Todd Bowles 2nd year as Bucs head coach.
